How to Join

The East Petersburg Fire Co. No.1 has been able to remain 100% volunteer for over 100 years. Most of our volunteers either live or work within our community, and assist the Fire Company as time permits. With membership, all the necessary training and equipment are provided with no out of pocket expense.

With a steady decline of volunteers nation-wide, we are currently looking for new members to assist in the following roles:

Firefighter: Firefighters are trained personnel who respond to a variety of emergency calls for fire suppression, rescue operations, emergency medical services, etc. at the requests of Lancaster County Wide Communications (911 Center). They will also respond to other non-emergency requests at the discretion of the Fire Company Officers.

Fire Police: Fire Police are trained personnel who respond to a variety of emergency and non-emergency incidents to assist with traffic and crowd control.

Administrative Officers: Administrative members provide the skills required to operate the "business" of the Fire Company, including financial management, personnel management, record keeping, and many other areas. These roles include the President, Vice President, Secretaries, and Treasurers.

Support Staff: Support members assist the Fire Company as needed, filling in on committees, assisting with fundraising, etc.

Junior Firefighter: Junior Firefighters are members of the ages 15-18,who are just starting out with the Fire Company, but are limited by State Laws due to their age. They are able to attend training, as permitted, and will advance to a Firefighter role when they turn 18 years of age.
